Holocene volcanoes along the Pacific Rim

The challenge for day 6 of the #30daymapchallenge on Twitter was to create a map that is red or about something that is red. What better to represent red than volcanoes? We decided to map out Holocene volcanoes based on data from the Smithsonian Institution's Global Volcanism Program (GVP).

The volcanoes are binned into hexagons to provide a better overview of their distribution.
